As another school year comes quickly to a close, Give to Lincoln Day is once more around the corner! Now is as great a time as ever to support the UNL Opera program by making a donation to Friends of Opera! From May 1 through 25, any donation you make to our page via the Give to Lincoln site is proportionately matched by the Lincoln Community Foundation, so your generosity will go even further in supporting the voice students at UNL!
Your donation will continue to provide:
- Opportunities for students to gain performance experience outside of classes
- Scholarships to UNL undergraduate and graduate voice student
- Direct support to UNL Opera’s annual budget
- Support for the Amahl and the Night Visitors project, which makes the popular Gian Carlo Menotti Christmas opera available to Lincoln’s most needy 5th graders
- UNL scholarships for talented high school seniors who participate in the Friends of Opera Vocal Competition
- Direct subsidies for UNL Opera special needs, such as special opera performances and festivals, guest artists, guest conductors and vocal coaches
