From my time as a student at UNL, one of my favorite experiences was the annual production of Menotti’s Amahl and the Night Visitors. Not only is the music catchy and the show uplifting (and the licorice a great snack!), I have always loved the fact that the purpose of putting on the show every year is to provide an accessible opportunity for young students to engage in opera. I’m delighted to share with you that I was able to produce a short documentary for the School of Music, highlighting the impact the program has had over the last 23 years on the local 5th grade students, teachers, and college students!
